If your home’s breaker trips frequently or if it won’t reset, it may be time to reset your home’s breaker. Here’s how:
First, locate your home’s breaker box. It should be located near the electrical meter. Once you’ve found it, open the breaker box and identify the breaker that is tripping or won’t reset.
Next, turn off all the power to your home by flipping the main breaker to the off position. Once the power is off, you can remove the cover of the breaker box.
Once the cover is off, use a screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the breaker in place. With the breaker removed, you can now inspect the breaker for any damage.
If the breaker looks damaged, it will need to be replaced. If the breaker looks fine, you can try resetting it by flipping the breaker switch to the off position and then back to the on position.
Once the breaker is reset, you can replace the cover of the breaker box and turn the power back on to your home.
